Youth Devt: Akeredolu commends Alasoadura on projects

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, has commended Senator Tayo Alasoadura representing Ondo Central Senatorial district at the National Assembly for his impacts on the youths of the state through various projects implemented in the state.

Akeredolu gave the commendation at the  graduation ceremony and award of certificates to the participants in the Certified Intensive Practical Training on CCTV installation and maintenance, GPS tracking, PBX ,intercom, OBD ( automobile scanning) and contract proposal writing sponsored by Senator Tayo Alasoadura at his constituency office in Akure the state Capital.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi,  explained that the gesture displayed by the lawmaker to impact meaningfully on youths and people of the state was encouraging as a way of giving back to the society, the dividends of democracy of good governance.

According to him, ” I’m impressed with the encouragement by the lawmaker to the youths at the local level.

“It will bring multiplier effects to the society”

He appealed to the people of the central senatorial district to redouble their supports for the lawmaker and encourage him to contest for another term to deliver more dividends of good governance to them.

While speaking, Senator Tayo Alasoadura said the programme was designed to fundamentally transform the lives of some our youths.

“Therefore the only way the investments and efforts put into the training can be justified is for you to apply the skills you have acquired to bring about a positive change in your lives.

“I always feel uncomfortable when I see graduates roaming the streets in search of elusive white collar jobs. It is high time we changed our orientation and the way of our thinking that has brought the nation into this sorrowful situation”.

“The future of Nigeria’s economic security rests on how we prepare today’s youths.

“As the most populous country in Africa, there are huge opportunities for (ICT). These when harnessed , will provide job opportunities for our teeming youths, enhance the quality of their lives and increase government revenue”.

“I am happy today , but I will be happier the day you start giving pleasant testimonies of transformation in your lives as a result of the training you have acquired, putting the skills into effective use and embracing the virtue of hard work. I am sure you will join the leagues of those who can adequately fend for themselves”

“I will continue to empower the youths as far as I remain your representative. There are many senators who appoint their sons and daughters as their liaison officers, personal assistant. But I can categorically tell you that all my staffs are drawn from each of the six local governments that make my constituency”.

Also speaking, the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, who was represented by the High Chief Afolabi Fayeun, the Edema of Akure land, appreciated the effort of the senator in taking some unemployed youths off the street by empowering them with self sustainable job.

He charged both political class and private individuals from private sectors to take youth empowerment as priority adding that government alone cannot do it.

The Commissioner for Sports and Youth, Mr. Saka Yusuf appealed to the well to do in the state not to leave the development of the state in the hands of government alone.

A former governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Tunji Abayomi said the era of empowering our youths with peanuts has become a thing of the past. He advised the youths to make good use of the knowledge they acquired during the training for the good of themselves and the good of the state.
