The Ondo State Integrated Financial Management Information System (SIFMIS) known as Go-Live has been launched to enhance accountability and transparency.
According to a statement by the state Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa, who recaptured the governor’s speech titled: Ondo SIFMIS is live said the state has gone through all the required phases of the project, adding that data are being migrated and users have gone through intensive trainings in line with the best practices to show that the state is ready to function in the new way of SIFMIS.
He emphasised that SIFMIS is a priority under the present administration and must be successful no matter the challenges at the onset.
The Commissioner stated that all the stakeholders in all MDAs should clean-up all teething problems within a week emphasising that non compliance is at the detriment of any recalcitrant MDA while all payment request not adequately made through e-system will not be processed.
Earlier, the Head of Service, Barr. Toyin Akinkuotu had advised the stakeholders to be committed to the project.
Similarly, the state Accountant-General, Mr. Laolu Akindolire, implored the stakeholders to improve on their ICT as the state government moves to automate system of payment.
He also admonished the stakeholders to keep their passwords secured so that they do not get into wrong hands.
In an interview, the SIFMIS Consultant, Mr. Chinedu Onyekwelu said majority were aware about SIFMIS for a very long time, but now it has come alive for people to utilised.
