‘Olusheye was a great Ondo Ambassador’

The governor of Ondo State, Arakurin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has described as painful to the people of Ondo state, the demise of the Former President of Christ Apostolic Church  C. A. C. (Worldwide), Pastor Elijah Olusheye.

In a message delivered on behalf of the governor by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Mrs Lola Fagbemi during the funeral service held at the Olashore auditorium Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, Akeredolu described the deceased as a great ambassador of the state in the area of evangelism.

Pastor Olusheye was born at Igodan-Lisa in Okitipupa local government  area of Ondo State in 1936.

The governor specifically noted the numerous achievements recorded during the tenure of Pastor Olusheye as the President of Christ Apostolic Church worldwide and therefore congratulated the children of the deceased for having a father who left a legacy of good name and cherished values.

The governor’s words of condolence read thus: ” I received the shocking news of the passing on of your father, former President/Trustee of Christ Apostolic Church (worldwide), Pastor Elijah Howard Lajuwomi Olusheye which sad event took place in the evening of Tuesday, the 29th of August 2017.

” On behalf of the government and the good people of Ondo (Sunshine) State, I sincerely commiserate with you and the entire family, particularly his widow, Mrs. Eunice Olusheye on the loss of Olusheye Patriach at the age of 82years.”

Akeredolu further described him as a spiritual colossus and a strong pillar in the Christ Apostolic Church, adding that Olusheye had deployed his natural endowment to evangelism locally and in foreign lands.

” Not only has his powerful anointing manifested in his preaching to multicultural and diverse audience, his administrative acumen was noticeable in the establishment of Sunday school department for the whole Christ Apostolic Church and the founding of a reputable tertiary institution, the Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji to mention but a few”, he said.

Commiserating with the family and the church, the governor prayed that God gave them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He used the medium to charge C. A. C. leaders to keep up the good work for the vineyard to grow.

Earlier in his sermon tittled ” Where does a Christian go after death”,  the current President of C. A. C worldwide, Pastor Dr. Abraham Akinosun noted that the body will always return to the dust while the soul and the spirit that has a beginning but has no end will always return to God quoting 11 Corinthians 1:5-6.

Akinosun who recalled his spiritual mentorship with the late Octogenarian said he became a prolific writer through him.

He described Olusheye as a great man of God who was for the emancipation of the church as well as a spiritual mentor who loved young people and gave them the platform to be relevant in the work of evangelism.
