NGO pledges support for children

A Non Governmental Organization with its headquarters in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Honoured Children Mission in Nigeria had declared its intention to support 600 kids, who are majorly orphans and the less privileged  with some relief ,materials.

 According to the NGO, the relief materials include  school bags, notebooks. Pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, erasers, toothpastes and toothbrushes.

This was made known at the 2017 bring back to school get together held for the children of the less privileged and ophan at CAC Church, Oba-ile  last  weekend.

Founder of Honoured Children Mission Nigeria, lady Evang Rebecca Durodola while addressing the children and others said her NGO will also  teach the children how to take proper care of their personal hygiene.

Evang Rebecca Durodola who was represented by her Son, Samuel Durodola said the 600 kids will be selected 100 each from Six States of Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Lagos and Kwara

She said her NGO embarked on the initiative Based on the research made with the aid of findings and reports gathered by volunteers from 6 selected states in Nigeria.

The NGO founder said it was discovered that children were driven out of classrooms for inability to afford basic educational materials, school uniforms and sandals, added that these children suffer from lack of proper hygiene, improper care of their teeth which obviously show whenever they speak.

“For these reasons, Honoured Children Mission in Nigeria in partnership with Hope for Us Charity decided to support 600 kids, both orphans and the less privileged with school bags, notebooks.

Pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, erasers, toothpastes and toothbrushes. We also teach them how to take proper care of their personal hygiene.

We are trusting God to make this program a continuous exercise till these children graduate from vocational schools or tertiary institutions depending on their abilities.

Presently, Honoured Children Mission Nigeria has 19 Bible club centers where children meet to study the word of God every Sundays from 5pm to 6pm in 6 Nigeria states. The 6 states are Osun, Ogun, Oyo, Lagos, Kwara and Ondo which is the headquarter of HCM (Honoured Children Mission in Nigeria).”

She charged the children to be positive, believe in themselves, determined that with the support of this program they will be focused, concentrate on their studies and be of good behavior, be obedient to God and their parents and guardians

Chairperson of the occasion, Chief Mrs Victoria Adewumi JP said HCM is fulfilling the injunction of the Bible of taking care of the needy and enjoined others to emulate the gesture.

Delivering her lecture to the children, a Nutritionist, Mrs Abiola Onyefunazua enjoined the children to take their cleaningness of their body and environment very important.

National Coordinator of Honoured Children Mission, Pastor Mrs Veronica Oladapo said the initiative is targeted at the ophan and the less privileged so that they can become somebody in life

Highlights of the elaborate ceremony was distribution of educational materials to the children among others.
