The between  the Leader of All Progressives Congress(APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and leaders of Afenifere has been described as a sign of good omen for Yoruba race.

The Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Chief  Tayo Alasoadura made this disclosure while speaking with The Hope in Akure at the weekend.

He stated that the overture has been long overdue, stressing that the symbiotic  relationship between  both will make Yoruba race to speak with one voice on issues of interest in Nigeria.

He described Afenifere as a group of people with great wisdom and elders whose knowledge cannot be jettisoned on issues of national interest in the politics of the country

His words:” It is a good thing to happen in the country. We must try as much as possible to come together. The more united we are, the stronger we become. The Afenifere people  are peopled by our elders who may not have the legs to run around like the younger ones, but their wealth of wisdom is there for us to tap from, drink from their source of wisdom “.

“The relationship  will strengthen  Yoruba race. One should have elders that you can consult on tricky, difficult situations  and the words of our elders on any difficult situation are words  of wisdom that we must tap from.”

Also speaking on the defection of former Vice President,  Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from APC, Senator Alasoadura  said it would not in anyway affect the fortune of the party in the coming 2019 general elections.

He maintained that the party is strong and a conglomerate of people  with wisdom  and understanding, noting that the party has not in any way denied anyone from contesting for any position that he or she is qualified for.

He added that APC as a party has internal mechanism  put in place at the formation level that does not deny or prevent anyone from aspiring to any position of authority in the party.

” I once contested for the governorship seat in Ondo state, and I will still contest for other elections, other people  have the right to run for other elections once there is no provision that says that Tayo cannot run or that Joke cannot run too. I ran for the position of Governor in Ondo state  and I did not make it, in fact about 20 people ran for the same position and none was debarred”.

Senator Alasoadura  said that cannot dictate what will happen in APC,  if he can dictate in Adamawa,  he can’t dictate  in Ondo and other states in the federation.

He said that his defection would  not be a threat to APC during election.
