All heads bowed amid tears  as the remains of the General Overseer of Christ Worshippers Church, Prophet Durodola Adedayo Samuel was committed to mother earth in Akure on Saturday.

The event which was tagged “Celebration of Life” was later turned into mourning and wailing as people wept unconsoled at the burial ceremony put in place by his church .

In his sermon at the occasion titled ” He fought a good fight of faith,” Prophet Amadi Chigozie of the church headquarters in Bayelsa State described the late prophet as a man of God who came, saw and conquered.

According to him, since the advent of man is to serve and live for God, Prophet Samuel in his short but exemplified life had done extremely well for God and his deeds will continue to be reference points in life.

Reading II Timothy, chapter 4 verse one to the end, Prophet Chigozie posited that the late General Overseer like Paul in the Bible had done his part and like a Trojan in battle fought darkness and the evil doers to standstill without compromising.

” Everything under the sun has a time and season. It has come for our dear Prophet to say goodbye to this world. What would the world say about you after you must have left? What have you done for humanity as a Christian?

” The Bible says that Dorcas was good at living her life for Christ and service to humanity. She lived a life full of grace, that was why many were weeping and looking for the disciples to wake her from the dead.

” If you leave this world today, what will you be remembered for? Prophet Samuel has gone and we have all come to celebrate him. He was a colossus that transformed many lives. He would be remembered for ensuring that many did not go to bed hungry and that their children went to school”.

The preacher said that Prophet Samuel would be remembered for healing the sick, making sure that the kingdom of darkness and Ogbanje submitted to God Almighty.

He added that the man of God had left and the spirit of God will continue to reign in the church left behind by him.

The remains of Prophet Samuel was committed to mother earth at 11:30 am beside his mother’s burial ground at Oshinle, in Akure South Local Government area of Ondo State.
