Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Princess Oladunni Odu with members of her family in thanksgiving mood

Recently, I came across the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you and to give thanks continuity. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
I am so sure this and many more informed the decision of the chairman, Ondo state Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) Princess Oladunni Odu to express her gratitude to God through a thanksgiving service held on her appointment at the Methodist Church, Igbobini Diocese, Idepe Circuit, Idape-Okitipupa penultimate Sunday.
No wonder the newly inaugurated SUBEB boss who used every moment to express her gratitude to God promised to make positive impact not just in the lives of those around her but also in the society at large.
According to her “It is always my joy to touch people’s lives and I will continue to do just that without sentiment,” she vowed.
“God chooses, He promotes, He is my creator, my provider and my all–in-all. I thank God, I thank Arakunriin Akeredolu for my appointment.” She stated.
She described the state governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) as a man of great integrity, a man of high repute and called the people of Ondo State to give him full support.
“SUBEB belongs to the 18 local governments of Ondo State, Okitipupa will have its fair share.” she promised.
Earlier in his sermon, Very Reverend Pozonin Basil had said that the chairman is known for excellent performance wherever she is, in the church and society, urging her to keep it up.
In a chat with Midweek Digest, Deputy Speaker, Ondo State, House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Iroju Ogundeji commended the celebrant for
Commissioner for Education Mr Femi Agagu (M), Chairman, Okitipupa Local Government, Mrs Morenike Alaka (L) and Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) Princess Oladuni Odu
identifying with God saying “it takes grace and humility for someone like her to go back to God in appreciation of His mercy and favour done on her by the Almighty God.”
Speaking further, he commended her for her past contributions in SUBEB and assured the people of the state of a better board.
However, he solicited the support of all for a performance that will make the state the cynosure of all eyes.
On her part, SA to the Governor on Education, Mrs Olawumi Ilawole described her as a role model and mentor and advised that she fulfills all her promises not only to her constituency but also to the state at large.
Former Permanent Secretary, SUBEB, Mrs Grace Mojisola Ajayi described her as an achiever, a goal-getter and determined leader who is ever ready to do the needful to make the society better saying “she has done it before and she will perform well.”
Those who also extolled the virtues of Princess Odu included the Commissioner for Education, Mr Femi Agagu, the Jegun of Idepe-Okitipupa, Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye, Oniju of Iju Odo, Oba Festus Olumoyegun and Chairman, Okitipupa Local Government, Mrs Morenike Alaka among others.
