Prov. 22:29 says: “Seeth thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.’’ This verse of the Bible points to the fact that it is only hard work that distinguishes a man from his peers.
When a man puts in more effort in his work, he becomes outstanding in all he does.
No doubt, the good work of the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, (Office of the Deputy Governor) Mr. Olorunleke Akeredolu, has given him the opportunity to have an edge among his colleagues.
Last Thursday, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication Studies, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo made it a necessity to honour him with an award of ‘’Distnguished Ambassador.”
Akeredolu, an alumni of the Ondo State owned Polytechnic was presented with the award by the Dean of the faculty, Dr. Ajimuda last Thursday.
The Faculty described the years of practice and the present assignment of the Deputy Chief Press Secretary as the reasons for the award.
While presenting the award at the Millennium Hall of the Polytechnic, Ajimuda said the faculty was very proud of Akeredolu’s record.
According to him, he has represented the school very well as an alumni, saying, “he is a good example of the success of RUGIPO”.
Responding, Akeredolu expressed appreciation to the officers of the Faculty and the departments therein.
He noted that his story has always been a wonder to himself and a source of inspiration to others.
Akeredolu who dedicated the award to the lecturers and students of the Department of Mass Communication of the institution hinted that the present government is working hard to make sure that the standard of Education in the state is raised above bar.
According to him, youths development and involvement in the governance have become very visible in the state.
