It was celebration galore for the people of Alade-Idanre of Idanre Local Government Area at the weekend as they gathered to celebrate their day.
The gathering, like annual reunion brought together sons and daughters of the town both at home and in the Diaspora who were gaily dressed to felicitate with their traditional ruler.
The day was celebrated amidst pomp and ceremony, as members of different groups in the community danced round to honour their monarch.
The 2017 edition of Alade- Idanre day celebration attracted dignitaries from all walks of life including Caretaker Chairman, Idanre Local Government, Hon Biyi Ayanninuola, who led members of his executive and Traditional Rulers across the state among others.
The climax of the activities of the Alade Day Celebration 2017 is the launching and conferment of awards on deserving sons and daughters of the community as well as non indigenes of the community that had shown support and commitment to the development of the community by the Aladeokun of Alade, Oba Olusegun Akinbola.
Those honored during the celebration held at the palace of Aladeokun were: Chairman, Elizade Group, Chief Michael Adeojo Media gurus, sir Folu Olamiti, Mr Kayode Akinmade and Mrs Ronke Akindolire.
Addressing his subjects and dignitaries at the elaborate ceremony, Aladeokun of Alade, Oba Olusegun Akinbola commended his subjects for the development recorded in the town and enjoined indigenes of Alade to always remember that there is no place like home.
On the awardees, Oba Akinbola said they were carefully selected based on their track record and contributions to the society as well as their achievements in life.
The royal father used the occasion to urge the Federal Government to give traditional rulers in the country special constitutional roles to play.
The Annual Alade Day was celebrated to appreciate God for the blessings of years past and Thanksgiving for the blessings of years to come.
Other significance of the Alade Day Celebration was its reunion facilitation for illustrious sons and daughters of Alade Kingdom at home and in the diaspora.
Caretaker Chairman, Idanre Local Government, Hon Biyi Ayanninuola who led members of his executive to the ceremony congratulated Oba Akinbola and the entire people of Alade for the success of the Day Celebration
He assured that his administration and that of the Ondo State Government are ready to partner with all the towns and communities across the state for development.
Awosunye of Atosin-Idanre and Olu of Igbobini, Oba Olakunle Ogunlowo and Oba Raphael Oyedele, commended Oba Akinbola and his subjects for the Celebration and enjoined indigenes of Alade at home and in the Diaspora to continue to ensure the development of their town, stressing that government alone cannot do it.
Responding on behalf of the Awardees, Former Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade, who thanked Kabiyesi and the entire people of Alade for the honour, promised that the Award will spur him to continue to serve his people the more.
