No fewer than 62 fresh graduands of the department of Medical Laboratory Science of the Àchievers University Owo were on Tuesday inducted into the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
The sixth induction/oathtaking ceremony of Qualified Medical Laboratory Scientists 2016/2017 session was held at the Trinity Auditorium of the institution.
Admonishing the inductees, the acting Registrar/CEO, medical laboratory science council of Nigeria, Mr Tosan Erahbor noted that their journey towards the Zenith of their profession has effectively commenced.
He added that the choice remains theirs if whether or not they will get there.
Erahbor identified mental and physical strength, dedication, determination, focus and tenacity of purpose as pre -requisite to reaching the top of their career.
According to him “the time for youthful exuberance has come and gone; now is the time for serious professional business, time to apply the knowledge, skills competencies and moral lessons embedded in your training over the past five years”
He enjoined them to draw inspiration from the mission statement of their alma mater as they journey in life which states that “to produce a total man, morally sound, properly educated and entrepreneurally oriented that would be useful to himself and the society”
“As you enter into the phase of professional practice, you should always keep in mind the importance of External Quality Assurance (EQA) in guaranteeing quality and reliability of test results on a continuous basis”
He warned them not to attempt to commence National Youth Service without first completing internship or attempt to repeat internship because of pecuniary gain saying the long arm of the law will not spare anyone found guilty.
