Ondo State Governor,Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has said that it would partner with the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to eradicate fake and substandard products in the state.
The State Governor, said this while playing host to the State officials of the organisation in his Alagbaka Office, Akure, the state capital.
The Governor, who spoke through his Deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, urged the organisation to adopt confirmation code used by the National Food and Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NAFDAC) for confirmation of genuine drugs for other products in the country.
According to him, the state government will do everything possible to make the state free from fake and substandard products.
He enjoined the organisation in the state to extend its ongoing awareness programme as well as fake products to students in the state to grassroots across the state.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of SON, Engr. Paul Oke, said the organisation is planning to hold School Clubs Awareness programme for students on fake products across the state.
He appealed to the state government on the need to collaborate with the organisation on the programme to catch students young on fake products as well as to prevent the state from being a dumping ground and for people to have value for their money.
Oke disclosed that some gas cylinders transported from Alaba market, Lagos State to Ekiti State recently were impounded by SON in Ondo State.
He said the organisation in Ondo State has zero tolerance for fake products, affirming that any product without SON approval is not genuine one.
He, however, added that every product must also have Nigeria Industrial Standard (NIS) written on it for it to be regarded as good product.
