Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is poised to unleash a massive infrastructural development on the state even as his administration is set to dualise the Ikare Akoko township road.
The Chairman of Akoko Northeast Local Government, Mr Rafiu Eniayewu disclosed this while speaking at a church service to commemorate the 57th anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence held at the All Saints Anglican Church, Ilepa on Sunday.
Mr Eniayewu stated that Ikare as a town is the major focus of the governor and as such, the town and other parts of the council area will witness massive infrastructural projects.
According to him, Governor Akeredolu has a great interest of Ikare at heart, assuring that developmental projects have been earmarked for the town.
The council boss, who agreed that things have not been going on well in the country as presently being witnessed, said President Muhammadu Buhari is sent by God to salvage the country from its socio-economic problems.
He posited that people may not notice much about the efforts of the Buhari led government in taking the country out of economic dungeon due to the decays of the past, noting it is not easy to rebuild once something has been destroyed.
On the state government’s plan to rescue the state from its economic problems, Eniayewu stated that the huge debts the new administration met on ground and the state of the economy of the country has definitely slowed down the pace of government’s effort.
He assured the people that the recent blueprint of the present administration on the way forward will be pursued to a logical conclusion and further assured the people that in the next three months, people will begin to feel the impact of the new administration.
The Council boss assured the people that the governor being a transparent person will not compromise in issues concerning them..
Similarly, the Chairman has also assured the people that his administration will not let the people of the local government down as he will do all things possible to meet their yearnings and aspirations.
Meanwhile, the Chairman has assured the governor of the support of the people of the council even as he charged them to give peace a chance , saying there could not be any meaningful development where peace eludes.
The church service was attended by the who is who in the council area among whom were notable politicians like Mr Abiodun Balogun, a former Education Secretary in the local government, Council Supervisory Councillors, head of departments and council workers.
The Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh was physically present while the Owa Ale of Ikare, Oba Samuel Kolapo Adegbite Adedoyin sent a representative.
