Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, has assured the Sunshine Queens FC of the right attention and support under Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu- led administration in the state.
He gave the assurance during his visit to the Sunshine Queens’ camp at Ijapo Estate, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Ogunleye was received by members of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) Interim Management Committee, Tunde Ogunja, Elder Mike Adeyeye and the Director, Sunshine Queens, Kayode Afolabi.
The Commissioner promised to always encourage the team and make their welfare a priority.
He disclosed that the present government has good plans for the team, including the Sunshine Stars FC and the Rising Stars to take all the teams to a greater height.
Ogunleye promised to restore the lost glories of all the teams during the present administration.
“We will develop this state in the area of sporting activities and we are committed to youth development.
“I want to assure you of adequate support and better welfare package under Arakunrin Akeredolu-led government. Some of your issues raised today will be addressed immediately, trust me.
“You will get the right attention and I will always be on ground to identify with you,” he assured.
The Commissioner also charged the Sunshine Queens to ensure overwhelming victory over Bayelsa Queens in their match in Akure today, Wednesday.
In her remarks, the Sunshine Queens Captain, Adeola Aminu, appreciated the commissioner for the visit and promised that the team will continue to do more and always make the state proud.
She also called for necessary support, motivation and encouragement from the government.
