The Hope learnt that the event will hold at 1.00pm at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Meanwhile, the Olusegun Agagu Foundation, last Thursday, in Okitipupa awarded scholarship and bursary awards running into million to 18 brilliant but indigent secondary and university students from Okitipupa Local Government area of Ondo State, the late Governor’s home base.

The awards were in three categories with the first coving 10 students.

In the second category, the foundation awarded scholarships to three students of Premier College of Ijebu Ode from JSS I to SS III which covers boarding, tuition and books.

The awardees are Oladayo Israel, Onukun Idowu and Adenagbe Toinwani.

The third category of full scholarship award covering tuition and boarding fees is for five science students in Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State.

According to the Secretary of the Scholarship Committee, Mr Sunday Oyepitan, the purpose of the awards is to immortalize Agagu.

He told The Hope “The foundation was instituted to immoralise the name and legacy of Dr. Agagu because while he was alive, Education was one of  his passions.

“In his life, he instituted an annual scholarship for students pent in the Federal University of Technology Akure and University of Ibadan for Geology and Mining students.

“When he died, his foundation  was initiated to pursue one  of his goals to give scholarship in continuation of his work and give  new ones.

“Those students given  scholarship are indigent brilliant students with no way they could pursue their education career.

The first and second editions of  the award held in 2014 for 13 students while the  third edition held in 2015  for five university students.
