A middle aged man, Mr Oluwafemi Saliu has approached a customary court sitting in Akure seeking the dissolution of his 23- year- old marriage to his wife, Mrs Oluwafemi Bose over her failure to take to correction and frequent fighting.
The plaintiff also cited various offences committed by his wife to include stubbornness and no regard for the family of the plaintiff, saying there is no more love and seeking the custody of their three children for proper care.
The plaintiff while explaining her wife attitude to the court accused her of frequent fighting with photograph evidence of where the wife injured him severely in the face.
He told the court that several family members and their church have made frantic effort to reconcile the association which never yielded the desire result.
According to the plaintiff, what led to his wife behavior was that she does not want to see any of his family members.
Responding to the allegations levelled against her, Mrs Oluwafemi Bose denied all while she explained her position to the court.
She accused the husband that since she did not give birth to a female child, the husband’s attitude toward his three male children was not good.
The respondent told the court that her husband had deserted the house for over 10 years.
She also accused the husband of not being responsible for the upbringing of their children.
Witness to the plaintiff, Pastor Boluwaji Joel told the court that he has even tried to settle the dispute, but to no avail, urging the court to do the needful.
The President of the court, Mrs B O Oluwateru after listening to both parties observed that they can no longer live together as husband and wife.
She ordered the plaintiff to pay the sum of N5000 before next week Friday to the court registry for the feeding of their last child.
She also ordered both parties to give peace a chance.
The case was adjourned till August 29,2017.
