The Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Hon. Fatai Adams has made it clear that he is the only recognised Chairman of the Intra Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in the state.
He made the declaration during an interview with The Hope in his office, in Akure the state capital.
Adams said there is no division in Ondo State IPAC, noting that his Deputy, Mr. Atanlogun Iginla is only playing to the gallery by laying claims to the office of the Chairman of the body in the state.
According to him, “Mr. Atanlogun is the Deputy Chairman of IPAC in the state, while l remain the Chairman. I never resigned my position , neither did the IPAC conduct any election that edged me out of office.
“The National body of the IPAC recognised my chairmanship in the state, and thus invited me to attend the second summit organised by the body on July 27, 2017 in Abuja.
“I was given the certificate of return to use for the election to be conducted in September this year.
“I will complete my second term in office by September, when new election will be conducted to usher in new executives for the Advisory Council, which I will not contest having completed two terms in office, ” he added.
“I don’t know why my deputy is over ambitious and making jest of himself all over the places, the Independent National Electoral Commission and National body of the IPAC few months ago said they are not aware of any election in Ondo State that confirmed him as the Chairman of the body in the state.”
It will be recalled that IPAC purportedly inaugurated a Technical Committee headed by Chief Korede Duyile.
He said the PDP Deputy Chairman could not attend such illegal assembly, noting that technical committee is an aberration, because it is not known to the constitution of IPAC.
“Anything done in IPAC, Ondo State without my consent is illegal, as you cannot put something on nothing.
“The purported technical committee inaugurated last month remains null and void, ” he reiterated”.
