For allegedly having carnal knowledge of a 14 year old girl, two men have been dragged before an Akure Chief Magistrate Court sitting at the new complex.
The accused persons are Iluyoye Olamilekan 26, and Ajibola Sola 29.
The accused persons brought before magistrate A.O Adegoroye were facing one count charge of having carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl (names withheld).
The accused persons committed the offence at about 5:00pm, at Igoba Akure in Akure Magisterial District, on July 30, 2017.
According to the prosecution, the accused persons conspire together to unlawfully have carnal knowledge of the girl.
The offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 221(1) of the criminal code Cap 37 volume 1 Law of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.
The State prosecutor, Mr Wale Bamisile urged the court for an adjournment to enable him study the case file and to assemble his witness in court.
Counsel to the accused persons, Barr Akinrata Adelanke, prayed the court to admit his clients to bail in most liberal term.
He assured the court that the accused persons would not jump bail.
He added that credible and reliable surety would stand for them if his application is favourably considered.
In her ruling the presiding magistrate Mrs A.O. Adegoroye granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 and one surety each.
She added that the sureties must provide a year tax clearance for the current year.
She thereafter adjourned the case till August 29, 2017 for mention.
