Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has again reiterated  the need for every Nigerian to continue to believe and support the oneness of Nigeria as a unified country and shun all divisive and hate comments.

Professor Osinbajo, who said Nigeria is unique in every way, stressed that the leadership being provided by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government is hinged on good governance.

Osinbajo made this known at the Fidau prayer for Mrs Omowunmi Akande, wife of former Osun State Governor and former Interim Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, held at Ila, in Osun State yesterday.

He expressed President Muhammadu Buhari’s condolence to the Akande’s family, and prayed for the soul of the late matriarch, whom he described as a great woman, who lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation.

The acting President described the deceased as a true gem, very supportive, caring and mother in deed and lauded her for her role of loyalty, service and love to humanity.

“Madam Akande is no doubt, a virtuous woman, a pillar of support to her husband and a humble, loving and compassionate woman who related well with family, friends and political associates of her husband.

“She was not only a devoted mother to her biological children, she was a mother figure to Baba’s many political sons and daughters and an adviser whose words of encouragement and counsel were quite invaluable.

“Our condolences to Baba Akande and to the entire family on the passing of mama. Our prayer is that the Lord would comfort the entire family and grant the departed eternal rest.”, he said.

Also, Akeredolu described the deceased as a disciplined, God-fearing and understanding woman who stood behind her husband to record landmark successes in both private and public services.

The governor asks the Akande family, the people of Osun State and Nigerians to take solace in the fact the deceased lived a good and fulfilled life.

Akeredolu added that late Mrs Omowunmi Akande will be missed by those whose lives she touched in her walk through life.

He, therefore, prayed that God will grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
