Prince Adekoye Ipinsami Emmanuel of the Akinlalu Royal Family of Erinje, has been installed as the regent of Ode-Erinje.
The installation took place at the Okitipupa Local Government Secretariat where the Caretaker Chairman of the council, Mrs. Morenike Alaka, presented the Certificate of Office to the new Regent.
The position became vacant after the demise of the king, His Royal Highness S.A.O Akinlalu (2), the Orungberuwa of Erinje Kingdom.
The position of the regent was keenly contested among six Princes leading to the setting up of a selection
committee by Okitipupa Local Government Council with the Abodi and paramount ruler of Ikale land, Oba George Faduyile with the responsibility to carefully select a new regent that will be accepted to everyone concerned.
The Hope gathered that other Princes stepped down for Prince Adekoye Ipinsanmi Emmanuel because of his track records and as a true son of Akinlalu Royal family.
Responding, the Regent appreciated the people of Erinje, Okitipupa Local Government for the trust and confidence reposed in him to ascend to the throne of his forefathers.
He equally expressed his profound gratitude to the Almighty God and the entire people of Erinje kingdom for their unwavering support
.He said: “I thank God Almighty for making this day a reality in the history of Erinje Kingdom. This is the beginning of a new dawn , and I will strive to make Erinje kingdom an envy of other communities in Ikale kingdom .”
He extended his hands of fellowship to other Princes to come together for the development of the kingdom.
Erinje kingdom has tradition of installing a male folk as their regent because of a strong traditional belief that forbids women from participating in their traditional rites.
