Women, youths as agents of peace, security

The importance of women and Youths to national development cannot be overemphasized as they are major contributing factors to the peace and security of a nation.

This  was the focus of a lecture delivered by  the Chairperson of Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), National Da’wah &Advocacy Committee, Alhaja Rofiat Idowu Sanni  at the  7th annual conference and award presentation to eminent personalities in the Ondo state chapter of the association held at Owo, in Owo local government area of the state.

The lecture was a thought provoking one, where every individual was inspired and illuminated.  The Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas of the state, Alhaji Shamed Aladesawe, who was in attendance described the lecturer as a pride  to Islam.

The Lecturer appreciated the men for their support in ensuring that  FOMWAN in the state  is doing  well  and in the nation at large.

She appreciated the women for their efforts in upholding the tenets of the association and their well-being.

Idowu Sanni narrated the importance of women in the society and the community as well as in the country at large.

She said  women are helpers to men without whose support she opined no man will succeed in their various endeavours.

A good nation, according to her is built  from the contributions of  women while a failed nation is as a result of failure of women in such nations.

She described men as women’s protector and as a shield, but were given birth to and brought up by the women.

She charged women to always care for the society even if they do not want to care for themselves, emphasizing the importance of foundation the  youths in the society which were through the efforts of the parents.

Highlighting the qualities of women which men look out for, Sanni mentioned fear of Allah, must be presentable, hard working and be a rich  person.

She charged their men to give the utmost support and cooperation to the women in order to take care of them properly, stressing that muslim women are always marginalised, particularly when considering the way they dress which was ordered by Allah.

Sanni called on all the Islamic clerics, particularly the Imams and Alfas to frequently enlighten their congregation and  others through their sermons, adding that they should educate the whole world more on the Islamic dressings for  women as stipulated by God.

The Chairman of Dawar told women to give their husbands rest of mind and bring up their children properly in the way of  God.

She narrated how a man was troubled in his home by his wife which affected him when he got to his place of work which almost made him to lose his job.

“A woman who behaves well, bringing up children properly is said to be building a nation”, she concluded.
