The Ondo State Football Supporters Club has begged the Ondo State Governor to as a matter of urgency appoint board members and chairman for the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA)-management of Sunshine Stars
This is contained in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer,Kunle Komolafe and signed by the Chairman, Emmanuel Oduyi.
The body, which is saddled with drawing support for Sunshine Stars said the lack of leadership at the agency was affecting the performance of the team as nobody was ready to take responsibility for the poor outing of the team.
“From what we have seen, nobody is ready take the bull by the horn for the team,” he said.
It would be recalled that Akeredolu had appointed Gbenga Elegbeye as the Chairman of the Committee to reposition the agency, while Elder Michael Adeyeye serves as the secretary and Tunde Ogunja as member.
The terms and reference of the committee was to reposition the agency and submit their report to the government.
Also, the supporters club also called on the League Management Company (LMC) to look at appointments of referees for matches in the league.
“The LMC is trying it’s best to sanitize the league, but how can you explain the appointment of two brothers as referee and assistant referee from Kano and another from Kaduna with the exception of match. Commissioner from the east?.
” We don’t understand the league itself, in the last two matches, different controversial calls had been failed to look into by the LMC.
“The disallowed goal of Sunshine Stars’ match in Ibadan against Shooting Stars on match day 22 was not looked into, the goal scored as a result of handball infringement stood by Plateau United in the match day 23 also stood in Akure ,” the statement read.
Komolafe however said it seems there was a strong conspiracy against the team and begged LMC to monitor events as it unfolds.
In the last four matches, SunshineStars had been defeated three times by Lobi Stars in Akure,Shooting Stars in Ibadan and recently by Plateau United in Akure, with the only win coming against Eyimba in Akure.
Sunshine Stars sit in the 17th position with goal difference separating them from the relegation zone.
