The Gospel Musician Association Of Nigeria [GOMAN] has inaugurated a new state executive that will pilot the affairs of the association for the next three years with Revd. David Akinadewo emerging as the governor of the association.
The event which took place at Ondo State Cultural Centre, Adegbemile, Akure, witnessed the presence of the gospel musicians and other dignitaries all over the country among whom were:- The GOMAN President Evang. Dr. Funmi Aragbaye, Hon. Olabimtan, Pst. Tunde Ayodele and a host of others.
In his inaugural speech, Akinadewo promised to work hard to reposition GOMAN in the State by training and retraining the members. “Many believed that they are musicians if they can compose one or two songs according to him, being a musician is far more than that, a musician must have skills in playing one or two musical instruments by which they can score their music and all that is necessary to have a good presentation at any given time.
Akinadewo also promised to facilitate an office for the association in the state where they can be located.
The governor of the association promised to carry out verification exercise, to know the actual members of the association in other to curb infiltration of gangster into the association and that each member will have an identity card and a file at the secretariat.
He said his vision is for the association to have a permanent place where they will build office secretariat.
Akinadewo promised to work with other executives to leave the association better than he met it. The out gone governor, Pastor Tunde Ayodele thanked God for the good successor in the person of Akinadewo “ I have no doubt in my mind concerning the new executives that they will take the association to higher height, they will do much more better than we did.
He admonished them to work in unity and harmony and to carry their members along for proper understanding.
Dr. Funmi Aragbaye also advised the new executives to show love to their members, listen to their complaints and carry them along, without that failure is imminent and without member there’s no executive.
Mrs. Adebisi Aluko thank God for the unity that exist among members of the association. She advised the new executives to work hard to maintain the existing unity and that they should remain focus. Prophet Olu Alo said the new executive should submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit to lead them in all their endeavours. Michael Adebayo advised the executives to be role model, he called on the members of the association to preach Jesus Christ in their songs and the executives to censor all albums their members produced before they are released to the public in other to curb all the junks that full the market and anyone that does not measure up to standard should be sanction.
Mrs. Queen Adetutu advised them to put God first and humble themselves, also to have a listening ears to their members’ complains. The new executives are Rev. David Akinadewo as the governor, Brother Olumide Akinsulere deputy governor 1, Evang. Olabisi Fadahunsi deputy governor 2, Glorious Adebayo secretary, Pst. Oluwole Abraham treasurer, Mojisola Oladunjoye financial secretary, Eze Mary welfare 1, Ofoesuwa Samuel welfare 2.
