The Deji of Akureland, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, yesterday commended the Ondo State Government for transforming Akure to a real capital city.
He stated this during his visit to Owena Press Limited, Publishers of The Hope titles on the up-coming Akure Praise 2015 edition.
According to him, the beautification projects of the present government and other projects in Akure are landmark achievements worthy of emulation by other states.
The monarch particularly commended the Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko for constructing an International Event Centre called The Dome in the capital city saying it would go a long way in showcasing the kingdom to the whole world.
He lauded The Hope for its effective grassroots reportage in the state saying this has brought about the popularity of the paper in the state and has served as a point of reference among the populace.
Oba Aladelusi commended the management of The Hope under the leadership of the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bode Betiku for doing a wonderful job of information dissemination to the citizens.
He urged the people of the state to continue to support and pray for the state government which has made good its promise and delivered dividends of democracy.
The Chairman, Planning Committee Akure Praise 2015 and the Olujigba of Ijigba, High Chief (Ambassador) Luyi Rotimi saluted the patriotism of Betiku in his task of making The Hope and Government Printing Press outstanding in the state.
He thanked The Hope for its support during the last Akure Praise 2014 edition and solicited for its support, mobilization and publications for the up-coming Akure Praise 2015 edition.
While stating the order of event for the programme, he said, the Christians prayer for Akure is slated for Tuesday, 10th November, 2015 at St David’s Cathedral between 10am and 12noon. The Muslims would commence their prayers on Wednesday 11th November, 2015 at the Central Mosque, Oja-Oba, Akure between 8am and 10am.
High Chief Rotimi said the focus of the Praise programme is to appreciate God for His protection over the land, the peace experienced during the last elections and for sustained peace in the coming year.
The Ambassador said God has been merciful on the land particularly on the peaceful selection of the new Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi saying the unanimous selection of the Deji was first of its kind in the land.
He prayed that Akure kingdom would continue to experience peace, progress and prosperity during the reign of the king, while urging the citizens to pray for the state.
In his response, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Owena Press Limited, Mr Bode Betiku thanked the Deji for his visit and assured him that the programme would be fully publicized by The Hope newspapers.
He assured the Oba that he could call on the organization at anytime, praying that the reign of the monarch would be peaceful.
The entourage of the Deji included veteran broadcaster, Chief Sanya Oyinsan among others.
